The ASA BIOP Software Engineering Scientific Working Group will hold an all day workshop entitled Good Software Engineering Practice for R Packages on September 26, 2023, in-person at the George Washington University Biostatistics Center in Rockville. Note that this is just before the yearly Regulatory-Industry Statistics Workshop (RISW) September 27-30 in Rockville and therefore is very convenient to attend for RISW participants in particular.
In this full day workshop participants will learn hands-on skills and tools to engineer reliable R packages - avoid bugs and pains in the future and instead build up the package cleanly today!
The day will be a mix of presentations and exercises. Participants need to be comfortable with writing functions in R and use their own laptops. Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided.
This workshop has successfully been conducted in Basel, Shanghai, San José so far and participants gave very positive feedback.
This event is organized by the ASA BIOP Software Engineering Working Group (SWE WG) as well as the ASA. We are grateful to have received logistic support by ASA BIOP and ASA. The venue is provided by the George Washington University Biostatistics Center. Presenters will be Andrew Bean, Biju Wang and Daniel Sabanes Bove.
