10/31/2025 2025 PhilaSUG (SAS User Group) Onsite Meeting will take place in University of Pennsylvania. The deadline for abstract submission is September 30. Click here for more details. 

12/8-12/2025 8th Annual Deming Conference On Applied Statistics will be held in Atlantic City, NJ. You can find more information about the program, submit an abstract for a poster presentation, and register for the conference online by visiting this link.

CHAPTER AWARDS

These annual awards recognize outstanding statisticians in the greater Philadelphia area for excellence in research,  practice, and teaching. Two student awards are also established for exceptional undergraduate and graduate studentsNominations for 2025-2026 Awards is now open!!! Please submit the nomination by January 16, 2026. Email us if you have any questions about the awards and the nomination process. See award criteria and the past award recipients.

CHAPTER OFFICERS ELECTION

Chapter officers are elected annually with the new term starts August 1. Nonimation for candidates opens around mid May. Please email us if you have any questions about the chapter officers election or have comments/suggestions for future Chapter activities.

  • ASA Philadelphia Chapter won the 2024 ASA Chapter Challenge on Giving Day for region 2!! 

    Congratulations to our Chapter and Chapter members and a BIG THANK YOU to those who contributed. The 2025 ASA Giving Day November 21 is coming up soon! Please consider donating for any amounts you want! We hope we can win this honor for two years in a row and earn a visit from ASA Executive Director Ron Wasserstein again!       The webinars are organized to promote discussion, collaboration, and interactive learning in various fields of statistics, with topics ranging from teaching, statistical consultation, statistical applications as well as methodology and theory.

      Mentoring Program

      In 2017, the Philadelphia Chapter mentoring program was launched. We surveyed the chapter members about their interest in becoming a mentee or mentor. Mentors and mentees then were matched based on their responses.

      These events are designed to provide useful information for early-career statisticians or students who are interested in pursuing career in statistics. Statisticians from local or regional companies or colleges/universities will be invited to participate as panelists.
